Album progress - Full Circle and Lone Outlaw

Recording for the new Outlaws album, Full Circle, will continue through the fall with a release planned for 2007. A release date will be determined once the band has secured support from a record label. The band feels very strongly that they must take their time and complete the best album they possibly can. Also next year, Hughie Thomasson will re-release his solo album, So Low, under the new title, Lone Outlaw. This is a very strong album, and like Full Circle, release timing will be determined once a record label is on board. We appreciate your patience and will keep you updated on progress.

A statement from the Outlaws to their fans:

We sincerely apologize to our fans for the cancellation of the performance at the North Texas Rock Rally. We understand the disappointment of fans who traveled great distances and waited for many hours, because we did too.

The Outlaws were there, and were set up and ready to perform, but due to circumstances out of our control, we were asked not to perform and to leave the premises by the local authorities.

Any time the band performs, particularly when we fly in and use equipment provided by the promoter, there are certain technical and security arrangements that simply must be in place in order for the band to play. Despite the substandard stage and backstage setup provided by the promoter, which did not meet his contractual obligations, and that were not technically sufficient to provide the quality show to which the band and its fans are accustomed, we were still willing to play.

The situation changed, when over the objections of the band and our management, the promoter dismissed all of the backstage support personnel and asked them to leave the premises, thus making it impossible for us to perform.

Disputes with promoters are an occupational hazard in the music business. The Outlaws are an extremely experienced and professional organization, and have never before had a performance cancelled on the brink of a show due to a dispute with a promoter.  The production of a rock concert is a complex undertaking and involves cooperation and fulfillment of obligations by all parties concerned. The Outlaws want to assure our fans that we were there and ready to perform, despite what may have been announced at the scene by the promoter.

Hughie Thomasson announced today that guitarist Ric Toole will no longer be touring with the Outlaws. "Ric is a friend, and agreed to put his own plans on hold for a while to play several shows with the Outlaws as a favor to me. I will always be grateful for the time and effort Ric spent touring with the band, but now he needs to devote his full time to his own new project, The Ric Toole Band" said Thommasson. The Outlaws have no plans to add another guitarist any time soon, but Hughie added, "Don't be surprised if you see Ric or some other friends sittin' in from time to time, because I sure enjoy playing with them."

07.05.06 The Local Buzz Magazine, a monthly arts and entertainment magazine in Port St. Lucie, Florida, has featured the Outlaws on the cover of their July issue. The issue contains an interview with Hughie Thomasson, that you can read by clicking HERE. Or you can check out the magazine's web site.

The Outlaws will be featured in an upcoming CMT television special: "20 Greatest Southern Rock Songs". The show is scheduled to air on July 1st. Mark your calendars and check your local listings for airtimes in your area.

The May 27th tour date in Tampa has been cancelled.

Sadly, we must announce the passing of Michael Alldredge, who was Hughie Thomasson’s step-brother. Michael died yesterday after a battle with cancer. We offer our condolences on behalf of the entire Outlaws community to Hughie and his family.  We will post additional information as it becomes available.

We also offer our condolences to former Outlaws manager Alan Walden, whose brother, Phil Walden, passed away earlier this week. Phil Walden, who also lost a battle with cancer, was a legendary figure in the music business. Phil founded Capricorn Records, and brought Otis Redding and the Allman Brothers Band, among many others, to national and international prominence.

04.12.06 The April 29th tour date in Henderson, TX has been cancelled.
04.05.06 Are you an ex-Outlaw or have you ever worked for the band as a roadie, instrument technician, or whatever? If so, we would like to update our contact information and hear a little bit about what you are doing now. As this site grows, we are planning on including a section about Outlaws alumni. And we are constantly getting questions like "Whatever happened to so-and-so?"  Please contact webmaster@outlawsworld.com.

The promoter has canceled the Outlaws show that was scheduled on June 17th at the Riverbend Festival in Chattanooga, TN. The guys regret that they will not be playing in Chattanooga. Sometimes things just don't work out the way we would like.

We're going public with a preview of the new site design today. So far, the site has been optimized for best viewing in Microsoft Internet Explorer for Windows. If something looks a little strange, you are probably using Firefox or a Mac. We'll be optimized for these other platforms within a few days, so hang in there.

If you encounter odd behavior that doesn't seem intentional on our part, please send an email to webmaster@outlawsworld.com. Include "Outlaws website problem" as the subject of your message.

We hope you like the new web site!

03.13.06 The Outlaws tore up Danbury, CT last night with an intense but slightly shortened set. Danbury was the fourth consecutive night of playing for the guys and the day off today will provide a welcome rest, and hopefully some recovery from the flu that is going through the bus. The guys are troupers and put on a great show, but they canceled the meet and greet afterwords because some were a bit ill and very tired. We are sorry if anyone was disappointed that they didn't have the opportunity to personally meet the band.
03.09.06

Hughie and Chris have dug into their extensive archives of recorded material and come up with some great tracks that will be available for downloading on the new web site. Some new, some old - none of it previously released. Rarities and oddities. The rarities are vintage Outlaws. The oddities are... well they're odd. All very interesting and entertaining stuff for discriminating Outlaws connoisseurs. Stay tuned.

The show scheduled on March 15th at the Magic City Music Hall in Johnson City, NY has been cancelled due to construction at the venue that will not be completed in time for the show. Ticket holders please call the venue at 607-729-2323 for refund information. A make-up date has been tentatively scheduled at the venue in April, but the operative word is tentatively. We don't know for sure whether it will be possible to reschedule this show. We will post news here as soon as the arrangements are confirmed, one way or another.

The Outlaws are very disappointed that they will not be playing in Johnson City on the 15th and would like to apologize to their fans who have already purchased tickets for this show. Please understand that the reason for the cancellation is beyond the band's control.

03.03.06

The band has been rehearsing deep in the woods north of Tampa for the last week. All the forest and swamp critters like what they are hearing. Racoons sighted playing air guitar and such. Rehearsals will continue until it's time to hit the road to Harrisburg, PA for the opening show of the spring tour on March 9th. The lineup will consist of Hughie, Monte, Dave, Chris, and Randy. The set list isn't complete yet, but the guys will probably be playing three or four new songs from the CD they are recording. No release date has been set for the new CD. They gotta finish the thing first!

News will be posted here much more frequently than in the past. Check out the announcement on the message board for some good news about the future of the web site.
